Durham based 'Juke Box Jive' started their career in September 1993 when brothers, Rich , bass and vocals, and Ed Stephenson , guitar and vocals, formed The Southern Harmony Musical Experience. Their aim was to bring back, once again, live 'Rock 'n' Roll' music to pubs and clubs in the North East of England; being performed by young men of a similar age to the young artists who had originally recorded the music back in the 50's.

They soon became established in the North-East and In 1995 they decided to change their name to JukeBox Jive and started to travel and gig nationally. Since then, they have gone from strength to strength and during 1997 as well as appearing at many North East social clubs, they were voted Top North East Band by the Durham Concert Secretaries Federation.

After already appearing on many radio shows throughout their career, their television debut came in January 1998 when they were featured in a short documentary on Channel 3 North East, which preceded their appearance as a live band in Catherine Cookson's TV Blockbuster 'The Round Tower', set in the 1950's.

They have toured extensively the Rank Organisation's holiday centres and hotels around the UK, leading to contracts for full seasons of late night cabaret spots at holiday parks around the country. In May 2007, they took their much acclaimed theatre show 'At The Hop' to Dubai and after a very successful visit, have been booked again for November 2008.

Juke Box Jive reproduce live music of the 1950's and 1960's, including numbers from Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Cliff Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley, Eddie Cochran and of course, the King himself, Elvis Presley.
